Softwashing

Some of you may ask, what is softwashing? Softwashing is a name used to describe a cleaning method opposite of pressure or power washing. Pressure washing and power washing are the preferred methods of most contract cleaners. We at Marcs Pressure cleaning utilize this method quite often , however we have found through countless hours of research that it is not always what is best for our customer. High Pressure Washing and Power Washing can and will damage soft surfaces such as wood, paint, vinyl and shingles , therefore we felt there must be a better way.

As a professional power wash contractor, I have seen the damages of long term exposure to water after an inexperienced person used a pressure washer on someone’s home forcing water into ceilings and cracks in foundations especially under vinyl. This is a health hazard and causes mold build up where it would normally not be found.

Softwashing is more time consuming but it is proven to be better for the customer. Softwashing is gentle and non abrasive yet highly effective. We use a custom made softwashing system comprised of chemical solution tanks using "low pressure" pumps to clean and rinse at minimal pressures. Our cleaning solutions are comprised of mildewcides, algaecides, soaps and surfactants. These solutions are mixed on-site and to the specific needs of the surface to be cleaned. First, the solutions are applied thoroughly to the surfaces targeted and given time to kill the mold, mildew, algae and fungus deep at its roots. Then, we rinse the surfaces thoroughly with fresh water at minimal pressures, being sure to stand back from area to be rinsed. We take great care of all plants and landscaping by thoroughly wetting them down and/or covering them with tarps when necessary. Many companies claim to softwash surfaces, but Marc's Pressure Cleaning actually does.
